We are a reputable law firm based in Kansas City, Missouri, seeking a highly-motivated Civil Litigation Attorney to join our team and assist with a fast-paced trial docket. The successful candidate will play a key role in growing our Kansas City office. Our firm specializes in various areas, including insurance defense litigation, plaintiff/defense business litigation, municipal law, employment law, and general litigation.
Responsibilities: The selected candidate will be responsible for independently handling a diverse caseload with minimal supervision. They will also be involved in taking and defending depositions (parties, experts, etc.), preparing complex pleadings and motions (such as petitions, answers, motions for summary judgment, discovery-related motions, etc.), and drafting and arguing motions before a trial court.
Qualifications:
- A valid license to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.
- Extensive experience with civil litigation and a track record of successfully handling cases in the aforementioned practice areas.
- Proficiency in independently managing and prioritizing a substantial caseload.
- Strong deposition skills, including taking and defending depositions of parties and experts.
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to draft compelling legal documents.
- Demonstrated ability to argue motions effectively before trial courts.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- High energy, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on new projects and quickly acquire new skills.
