We are seeking a highly experienced Civil/Structural Designer with a strong background in chemical processing plants for a position in the Houston, Texas area. This role involves working on multiple small to medium-sized projects simultaneously, primarily serving as a civil/structural designer. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in industrial settings, particularly in small to medium-sized chemical plants and terminals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed designs for equipment foundations, supports, pipe racks, access platforms, and related structures.
- Utilize AutoCAD and CADWorx to produce accurate and detailed drawings.
- Perform self-checks of work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure design compliance with project requirements.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring that scope, schedule, and quality standards are met.
- Work on projects involving rail/truck scales and loading/unloading systems, if applicable.
- Provide support for the development of project scope and schedule.
Requirements:
- 10-15 years of industrial design experience in small/medium chemical plants and terminals.
- 5+ years of recent experience with CADWorx.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of NavisWorks is a plus.
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to check own work and accurately incorporate markups.
- Experience with equipment foundations, supports, pipe racks, and access platforms is essential.
- Experience with rail/truck scales or loading/unloading systems is highly desirable.
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $55 - $70 per hour, depending on experience.
- The client is open to paying a higher rate for the right candidate.
Work Hours:
- Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.
