About the Job
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for an Estimator. This is a contract to potential direct hire opportunity with one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies located in Casa Grande AZ.
Pay: $50 to $60 per hour
Responsibilities
Analyzes blueprints and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates. Performs
accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus four years
relevant experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
A professional designation is preferred, examples are: RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, LEED AP, RA.
Pay: $50 to $60 per hour
Responsibilities
Analyzes blueprints and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates. Performs
accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.
- Obtains accurate and up to date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.
- Inputs estimate takeoff information for specific discipline into CATO and develops unit cost pricing.
- Works with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimate. Develops relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.
- Assists senior staff in ways to make projects more efficient. Seeks ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.
- Maintains project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized and reasonable manner. Maintains project files on file server in accordance with company standards.
- Maintains and updates data library of costs.
- Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explains variance cost drivers.
- Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

relevant experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Should have intermediate knowledge of CATO, working knowledge of electronic takeoff including CAD Measure, and working knowledge of a commercially available construction cost estimating system.
- Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
