JOB DESCRIPTION
The secretary in this position will be responsible for providing secretarial/clerical support to theAssessment and Professional Development Director.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must present transcripts of highest level of education within thirty (30) days of hire.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must pass a basic skills test based on the requirements of the position.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within thirty (30) days of hire and yearly thereafter.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Evidence of proficiency in bookkeeping procedures (which includes setting up and managing/tracking budgets, grants, purchasing/requisitioning supplies and materials)
- Evidence of accuracy, speed and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word, solid use of Excel (including pivot tables), Outlook,PowerPoint, Google Suite andCanva software.
- Evidence of ability to proficiently use copy machines, telephones, fax, scanner and other office equipment.
- Evidence of proficiency in office procedures such as setting up and maintaining accurate files, both hard copies and in a computer system.
- Evidence of ability to manage travel arrangements and registrations for staff, expense reimbursements, and budge tracking.
- Recommendations that confirm dependability, flexibility, confidentiality, and self-starting capabilities.
- Positive job performance evaluations.
- Evidence of ability to exercise sound judgment to organize, set priorities, meet deadlines, work independently and take initiative to organize meeting/events.
- Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record.
- Evidence of ability to communicate positively and effectively with teachers, administrators, parents and coworkers by telephone well as in person to provide customer focused information and direction.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Business+ data management system,tracking and submitting hours for staff, and Laserfiche workflow.
- Experience using Schoology assessments, pdEnroller, and Google Forms.
- Previous experience with budgeting, ordering, reporting and purchase orders.
- Previous experience managing and reconciling procurenment card statements.
- Experience with making conference and travel arrangements.
- Evidence of willingness to pursue continued job-related skill development and staff development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide secretarial/clerical support to the Assessment and PDDirector, content specialists, and data analyst.
- Process requisitions and purchase orders for curricula, materials and equipment.
- Prepare travel reservations, which includes registrations, hotel and transportation.
- Prepare support documentationwith budgets and tracking sheetsfor annual OSPI reports, and multiple state and federal grants.
- Process claims using Laserfiche for tuition reimbursement.
- Organize catering,communications and logistics for the annual Focus on Instruction event.
- Coordinate curriculum materials, budgets, and ordering equiptment for K-12 Health, PE, Music and Art teachers.
- Organize registrations, transportation, facilities, and substitutes for Choral Festival, Mallet Festival, Orchestra Festival, and other music school competitions.
- Maintain an accurate filing system.
- Greet and direct outside visitors and/or in-district personnel in a warm and positive manner.
- Compose letters/e-mails/reports independently with minimal instruction.
- Perform all duties of the position and others assigned within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties relating to department may be assigned.
