Claims Appraiser
3-6 Months Contract
Primarily remote work, once in a while may have to go out to a large sight for a specialty issue. I.e hail storm and fleet of cars destroyed..
Physical Location - Wilmington, DE
AGL/PDS claim investigations, Maintains active diaries and provides oversight of claim office files. Develops and maintains strong relationships with the PDS team, designated claim offices and approved national vendors in an effort to increase productivity with a focus on achieving claims handling excellence. Evaluates and approves recommended reserve and settlement amounts within TPA's authority level. Assists claim offices in the management of PDS claims, where needed, including active involvement with client related CAT losses. Initiates, develops and releases educational material on coverage, physical damage, liability investigations, laws, etc. Assists Product Line Assistant Vice-President and/or PDS Manager as necessary and performs special assignments and projects as required and directed. Travel requirements of this position are approximately 30%.
Qualifications Summary:
• Five or more years' experience as a field claims representative with emphasis on physical damage claims handling.
• Knowledgeable of P&C Group coverage and services.
• Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.
• Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon detailed analysis of complex issues.
• Demonstrated skill in coaching individuals through detailed instructions, frequent demonstration and repeated practice
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, negotiation skills and influence management skills.
• Ability to manage and operate a team effectively.
• Ability to facilitate and lead group(s) of people.
• Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external customers to accomplish organizational goals.
