About the Job
Georgia-Pacific is now hiring for a Clean-up Crew Lead at our lumber mill in Pineland, Texas . The lead will drive the safety culture ensuring all policies are followed and provide leadership and continual guidance/training to the mill-wide clean-up crew. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, to communicate effectively with vendors, employees, and leaders across the organization.
Compensation: $26 per hour and up based on experience.
Shift: Must be available to work all shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
The Experience You Will Bring (Basic Qualifications):
- • At least 2 (two) years in an industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- • At least 1 (one) year of leadership/supervisor, and training experience.
- • Experience operating a Forklift, Bobcat, Front End Loader, blowers, air compressors and other standard hand and mill tools.

What You Will Do In Your Role
- Utilize time management and ensure proper scheduling for crew coverage.
- Manage tool and resource inventories levels.
- • Train and mentor employees for continual improvement.
- • Aid in relief when needed for any staff shortages to ensure housekeeping standards are met daily.
- • Lead new ideas to create improvements in labor reduction, improvement in housekeeping standards, and proactively being a mill resource to build bench strength for the team.
- • Create or revise standard operating procedures (SOP)'s to ensure repeatability and assurance of safety training and qualifications.
- • Address non-disciplinary employee performance issues and concerns within the clean-up crew department in a fair consistent manner and within alignment of all regulations and policies of the facility.
- • Provide 360 performance feedback for cleanup crew employees.

Other Considerations:
- Must follow all applicable company safety regulations.
- This job will require bending and stooping; climbing ladders, stairs and equipment up to 60 feet in height, lifting up to 60 pounds, pulling and pushing up to 100 pounds, standing and walking for periods that can last in excess of 10 hours. Should not be averse to heights due to climbing requirements.
- Must be willing to use all required PPE and OSHA mandated safety equipment required to perform job tasks.
- Employee must be self-directed as the position receives little supervision & instructions once the employee's role is established. Position is a leadership role for the cleanup crew for the entire facility.
- The position receives job performance reviews every 30 days for the first 90 days if the employee is new to the team. The employee will receive at a minimum an annual review thereafter.
- Must be able to build work schedules, track attendance, etc. Must obtain forklift and front-end loader license within 90 days of job acceptance.
- Must be able to perform basic math functions, must be computer literate, utilize email, write requisitions as needed, source tools as required.
