The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time cleaner position. Working with a supervising Housekeeper, a cleaner will perform a variety of manual tasks. This position requires physical efforts in cleaning assigned areas such as offices, public areas, patient areas, labs, and clinics.
The chosen candidate must possess the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. The chosen candidate must have the ability to stand, bend, stretch for long periods of time and to perform medium to heavy manual labor, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A working knowledge of various cleaning substances and the ability to use various cleaning equipment is necessary as well.

- Picking up and removing waste.
- Using mops, brooms, buffers, scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment to wash floors, corridors, stairs and stairwells, walls, windows, etc.
- Use manual and/or mechanical equipment to strip, vacuum, shampoo carpets, and wax floors.
- Use equipment such as ladders to wash and dust high places like ceilings, windows, and air vents.
- Maintaining cleanliness of laboratories, inpatient clinics, outpatient clinics, and other hospital areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
