Overview
Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate two Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs.We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent serves as clerical support for the clinics which includes registering and scheduling patients. Incumbent provides clerical support to the department in regards to billing questions and clinic specific patient care and financial programs. In addition, the incumbent will process patients in a timely manner to keep the flow of patients moving efficiently and on schedule and alerts clinician of any patient in distress. Incumbent may float between Pine Street Clinic, Mt. Shasta Clinic and Lake Shastina Clinic. The incumbent may have access to third party credit card information and transactional systems (cash registers, point of sale devices, applications supporting credit card applications, and reports or other documents containing credit card information) and will ensure that appropriate organizational procedures are followed. The incumbent report to the Director Rural Clinics.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
+ Two years recent outpatient medical clinic clerical experience (may waive based on a combination of education/training).
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, medical terminology, CPT, ICD-9, and HCPCS required.
PREFERRED:
+ Working knowledge of clinic based patient care programs preferred.
Pay Range
$23.00 - $24.73 /hour
