About the Job
We’re looking for a Client Service Manager to join our Non-Qualified team. In this role, you’ll serve as our primary customer service contact, providing a high level of value and service while developing effective working relationships across our organization!
- Partner with retirement plan service representatives and marketers to improve the relationship between customers and Principal.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with non-qualified clients, financial professionals and internal service teams to ensure client retention, growth of the client service block and profitability for all partners.
- Embody non-qualified core values in all interactions.
- Identify customer expectations and develop a strong working relationship.
- Use creativity, problem solving skills, and in-depth product knowledge for successfully arriving at solutions for retaining clients and resolving complex client issues.
This role will offer you the opportunity to work closely with Principal’s customers, solving problems, resolving issues, and helping to build their financial confidence.

Who You Are:- You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of related experience required (non-qualified retirement plan, qualified retirement plan, or financial services experience preferred).
- FINRA Series 6 license will be required within 9 months of employment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- On-site client visits may be required and/or minimum travel required.

- Accurate, organized, able to meet deadlines, and follow-through on tasks and campaigns.
- Able to build and maintain good relationships within the organization.
- Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.
- Demonstrates ability to build proven, positive relationships with clients and partners.
- Understands retirement concepts.
Work Environments
This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
Job level
We'll consider talent up to the CSM II level with the right experience and skills. Keep in mind, the minimum/maximum salaries provided do include the CSM through the CSM II opportunity.
