About the Job
Work with senior members of the firm to advance company goals by developing long lasting client relationships, expanding existing business, and securing new opportunities.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with company leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for business development and to build strategic relationships with key clients, agencies, and partners
- Track and report key market information, facilitate internal strategy meetings, and develop formal client strategies and plans; solicit qualified bid and proposal opportunities based on a focused and targeted plan
- Maintain a clear understanding of the financial needs of each division and focus marketing efforts accordingly
- Evaluate the work program of clients and potential new clients to identify opportunities for all divisions of BCC
- Maintain and nurture client relations by scheduling meaningful, friendly touch points that have a clear purpose, occur with an appropriate frequency, and comply with applicable ethical guidelines; track and report client visitations as appropriate
- Assume a senior leadership role to assist Division Managers in qualification, proposal, and presentation activities; motivate and train others in major project pursuit
- Represent BCC Engineering, LLC. as a brand ambassador to external entities including clients, agency officials, and the public
- Lead Monday marketing meetings; present new opportunities and discuss pursuit strategies
- Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and government entities; develop teaming strategies to maximize probability of success and to develop reciprocal relationships with other firms
- Promote business development activities throughout the company, underscoring the importance of accurate CRM tracking, Project Fact Sheets, and resume updates
- Assist in the tracking and forecast of current and future business to establish and meet budget, revenue, profitability, and backlog goals
- Assist in preparation of fee proposals and negotiations with clients; negotiate and review contracts on behalf of the firm as necessary
- Participate ethically in client entertainment activities, as required
- Other marketing duties include providing timely resume updates, project write-ups, proposal support, creating social media content, and participating in marketing initiatives as required
- In conjunction with Controller and leadership, conduct financial and contract review of prospective projects and regional business activities to ensure adherence to financial and risk objectives of the business including production reporting and analysis
- Able to understand and communicate technical requirements at a high level as well as manage the customer experience to ensure successful delivery of projects
- Significant understanding of the political innerworkings of the client as well as agencies’ policies.
- Capable of adjusting behaviors when interacting with others; exhibits positive influencing abilities to persuade and create buy-in
- Superior communication skills with an ability to communicate with non-technical staff and partners, as well as the ability to adequately communicate technical concepts to others and build meaningful and lasting relationships
- Demonstrated business acumen
- Attentive to other’s views and concerns; is patient and takes personal action to improve situations
- Recognizes personal strengths and weaknesses and is mindful of personal impact on others and the organization
- Demonstrated ability to meet client’s needs and maintain client satisfaction

Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 15 years' experience performing and/or selling offered services
- Possess significant knowledge of, and a well-established network, in the industry
- Significant understanding of engineering, construction management and related services and a substantial knowledge of associated negotiations and contracts
- Ultimately possess extensive knowledge of the company’s strategy, philosophy, and policies
- Demonstrated success in business development and client service
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Civil, Transportation Engineering, Urban/Transportation Planning
- Florida PE License, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Active participation in relevant Engineering Societies
