The Red Fan internship program offers an opportunity to learn, experience and play an active role in the daily activities of an award-winning senior communications consultancy. A Red Fan intern has introductory experience in integrated communications and shows a sincere interest in developing their skills and expertise within the industry. Role & Responsibilities
Client Services
Actively contribute to media relations campaigns, including daily news monitoring for interesting trends, compiling media lists, drafting and editing pitches, and developing interview briefs.
Provide media and competitive intelligence for current and prospective Red Fan clients, including mastering industry-standard monitoring and analytics tools.
Shadow Red Fan team members on or participate in client calls, participate in weekly brainstorms and present findings from daily media monitoring and intelligence gathering to support campaign activities.
Assist Client Services team with monthly reporting.
Research thought leadership opportunities, including award, speaking and contributed content opportunities. Support Client Services team in maintaining thought leadership trackers.
At the end of the internship program, give a presentation of your internship experience, client successes and key takeaways from your work with Red Fan.
Red Fan Marketing & Operations
Apply media relations skills and learnings to Red Fan’s proactive PR efforts, including proactive media outreach, press release drafting, award drafting, etc.
In collaboration with Red Fan’s senior marketing and operations manager, support ongoing marketing initiatives, including blog writing, newsletter development, social media content development and more.
Participate in Red Fan event planning and/or event execution.
Skills & Qualifications
Pursuing or have recently completed a degree in PR, journalism, communications or marketing.
Diligent writer and editor with superb communications skills.
Working knowledge of designing and executing media relations campaigns, with experience writing press releases or pitching preferred.
Strong attention to detail and work ethic—you hate missing deadlines and prefer to be proactive.
Fire in your belly for data-backed communications strategies and collaborating with dynamic agency professionals.
