Clinic Manager Greater Nebraska Medical Surgical Services - Box Butte General Hospital

General Summary of Responsibilities

The GNMSS Clinic Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of three Certified Rural Health Clinics owned by BBGH. This role includes supervision of nursing and registration staff, operational decision-making, and effective communication with medical providers. Key responsibilities include staff management, scheduling, monitoring clinical competencies, and ensuring compliance with Rural Health Clinic (RHC) status and Joint Commission regulations.

Essential Job Functions

• Staff Oversight: Collaborate with the COO and Clinic Billing Coordinator to manage nursing, billing, and registration staff functions. Supervise time and attendance, including approvals.
• Training and Support: Act as the electronic record and scheduling expert, providing training and guidance to clinic staff and providers.
• Outreach Coordination: Plan and oversee outreach clinics, including vaccination clinics, school/sports physicals, and community wellness events.
• Conflict Management: Address conflicts among staff and medical providers with guidance from the CEO and COO.
• Clinical Competencies Management: Implement and monitor clinical competencies, licensing credentials, and continuing education for staff.
• Revenue Cycle Collaboration: Work with the Clinic Billing Coordinator to ensure an efficient revenue cycle.
• Workflow Optimization: Establish nursing workflows that align with BBGH's mission and vision.
• Performance Evaluations: Conduct annual performance evaluations for staff.
• Recruitment Participation: Involve in recruitment efforts for all staff and providers.
• Patient Satisfaction Improvement: Continuously strive to enhance patient satisfaction metrics.
• Schedule Management: Maintain nursing and RHC laboratory staff schedules and assist with the provider call schedule.
• Guideline Compliance: Ensure adherence to RHC guidelines and maintain RHC Certification, including manual updates and evaluations.
• Satisfaction Monitoring: Monitor provider, employee, and patient satisfaction, promoting programs to exceed administrative guidelines.
• Quality Improvement: Support safety, quality, performance improvement, documentation, and reporting

Attend 90% of departmental staff meetings.

Participate in the Performance Improvement process.

Pursue professional growth through continuing education.

Contribute to a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or BSN Degree.
• Preferred: Education in management or leadership nursing; BSN Degree or higher.

Experience

• Required: Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing or business leadership experience.
• Preferred: 1-2 years as a clinic nurse manager or coordinator in an outpatient setting.

License/Certifications

• Required: Current and valid Driver's License; BLS for healthcare workers.
• Preferred: Current licensure as an RN in the State of Nebraska.

Position Hours

• Expected work hours: up to 8 hours a day, occasionally longer if needed.
