Clinical Assistant Professor Behavioral Psychologist - Pediatrics

Job Description Summary:
This position is for a licensed clinical psychologist functioning in the
clinical setting at an academic medical center. Psychologist will be
responsible for providing care to pediatric patients with common
behavioral issues in childhood and adolescence such as internalizing and
externalizing disorders.
Job Description:
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities are clinical.
- Teaching within the clinical setting for graduate level learners
from a variety of disciplines including medical students and
pediatric residents.
Work Environment
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment
which does not usually subject the employee to any unpleasant
elements.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: PhD in Clinical Psychology with children, licensed
psychologist (LP).
- Must have current license from the Kansas Behavioral Sciences
Regulatory Board (BSRB) or be license eligible.
Preferred Qualifications:
Work Experience:
- Desire to be a full-time clinical psychologist working in a
department of pediatrics providing mental health care to children.
- Experience with clinical teaching at a medical institution in the
behavioral pediatrics field is also welcome.
Skills:
- Young child mental health, evaluation and treatment of severe mental
illness in children and adolescence, dialectical behavior therapy,
young child behavior management, screening and treatment for suicide
and self-harm in children.
- Strong professional, interpersonal, written, and oral communication
skills as evidence in work history and application process. Ability
and skills to provide teaching within the clinical setting for
graduate learners from a variety of disciplines including medical
students and pediatric residents. Strong organizational and planning
skills.
