Job Description: | -Performs highly specialized diagnosis and procedural coding for all operative procedures and Responsible for ensuring that there are no unsigned or missing operative records. Enters charges for both surgical cases and non-surgical inpatient events. -Collaborates with the leadership of the department in developing processes to positively impact the -Works closely with Assistant Director to determine charges to be rendered for surgical procedures -Attends periodic meetings, seminars and classes to improve coding skills. Remains current on coding -Train faculty members and residents on methods of coding and billing and keep them apprised of coding changes, as well as assists faculty with the resolution of coding questions and problems.

Expected Salary: | $21.84-$28.38 |
Minimum Requirements: | High school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience in professional medical coding, with experience in two or three clinical specialties. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Certified Professional Coder (CPC)/ American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P) required. |
