General: Responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing and implementing a specific service. Ensures regulatory compliance and develops policies and procedures to support organizational and regulatory requirements. Monitors parameters in area of expertise and then coordinates performance improvement and training activities. Communicates information effectively. Works effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve objectives of the program.
Specific: Responsible for the area of Clinical Pharmacy. Coordinator, pharmacy clinical programs; maintenance and design of clinical computer operations.
- Pharmacy/Nursing staff clinical education.
- Therapeutic prospective patient chart review to ensure patient is a candidate for medications ordered.
- Pharmacy and therapeutics management of oncology medications.
- Formulary management for oncology medications.
- Liaison between oncology providers and the pharmacy department.
- Review implementation/development and monitoring of clinical procedures and guidelines and provide recommended changes based on evidence-based guidelines
- Assist in staffing when there is a departmental need
- Serve as liaison to interdepartmental projects as it relates to clinical oncology activities
- Continue to foster and develop relationships with nursing and medical oncology providers to ensure better patient outcomes
- Serve as point of contact regarding developing clinical trial program and maintaining regulatory compliance and procedures
- Assist in oncology regimen builds and serve as subject matter expert for EPIC EMR (Beacon) related projects
- Provide education to pharmacy/nursing and oncology providers on new topics relevant to the goals of the department
- Assist in clinical activity supervision of pharmacists and technicians
Minimum two years of experience in a related field. Able to communicate effectively, pleasantly, cooperatively, and discretely with patients, physicians, team members, and the general public. Able to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality. Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds, training and experience. Demonstration of creativity, initiative and problem solving. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
