Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management: Assume responsibility for the efficient functioning of the Med/Surg unit in the absence of the Director, providing leadership and direction to other team members.
• Quality Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in patient care and outcomes through evidence-based practice initiatives and performance improvement strategies.
• Staff Development: Mentor and empower your team through ongoing education, training, and performance feedback.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient and effective unit operations, managing staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Patient Advocacy: Champion patient-centered care and advocate for the needs of both patients and staff.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience:
  • 5+ years of Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of charge nurse/supervisory experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications:
  • Current Alabama Registered Nurse License.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (must be obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (must be obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification (must be obtained within 2 years of hire).
  • De-escalation training must be completed within 90 days of hire.
