Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for the overall implementation and management of the patient nutritional program within the hospital. They also are responsible for ensuring patient and customer satisfaction and good public relations are achieved. Potential for outpatient dietary education as well in various service lines. Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with others to advance the hospital mission. Work is performed independently, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative.
What you will do in this role:
- The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for assessing the nutritional status of patients and designing nutrition programs to maintain or improve their health
- The CD also serves as a consultant within the Food and Nutrition Department and makes recommendations on menu options, snacks, and other aspects of nutritional provision
- Your commitment to service, safety and professionalism will contribute to achieving the best experience for our patients
- You will provide evidence-based nutrition counseling to patients on modified diets
- You will conduct nutritional screenings and assessments of patients
- You will collaborate with physicians to coordinate and implement nutritional recommendations
- You will identify and communicate potential nutritional implications of medications and document this information in patients' records
- You will notify the FNS Dietary Aides which patient foods are allowed and disallowed based on the prescribed diet
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in dietetics, food and nutrition, food service systems management or a related area that meets the requirements of the American Dietetic Associate is required.
- Registered through the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
- Current Missouri state licensure is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of dietitian experience is required.
