- Job Summary
Responsible for the analysis, design, build, setup, configuration, testing, training and support of OwensboroHealth's Epic system. Serves as a critical liaison between the health system's clinical areas and the ITdepartment by serving as clinical application(s) subject matter expert. Applies knowledge of clinical specialtyand informatics to recognize opportunities for process redesign and improvement that will help theorganization maximize the benefits of the Epic implementation.

- Job Responsibilities
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and support of Epic and other clinical systems for the area of responsibility.
- Analyzes and interprets patient, clinical specialty and information systems data to improve clinical services and to develop evidence-based solutions for clinicians.
- Applies knowledge of computer science, information science, clinical specialty, and informatics theory to clinical practice, education, administration, or research, in collaboration with other health informatics specialists.
- Assists in the implementation of policies and practices to ensure the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient information.
- Remains abreast of trends and developments in clinical specialty theory, practice and technology, and in the field of clinical informatics and associated software.
- Assists in the development and execution of Epic testing, including test scripts, documentation of results and integration testing.
- Analyzes Epic released content for reporting, Clinical Decision Support and Analytics to enable information sharing.
- Provides on-site and/or telephone support in accordance with organizational needs - in a periodic, rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field required. A combination of education, training and experience in lieu ofdegree may be considered.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Current licensure/certification in clinical specialty required. Epic certification required within 6 months ofemployment in position.
- Work Experience
- 0 to 4 years progressive professional experience required. Prior Epic or other EMR implementation and/orsupport preferred.Requires a strong understanding of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of clinicalspecialization. Basic knowledge of information systems technology, processes, procedures, and applicationsoftware (e.g., Epic, EMR, Excel, PACS) required. Basic understanding of clinical operations and businessprocesses within the organization required.

- Completes detailed work assignments. May be assigned to small projects or to specific areas of a largerproject. Exercises some judgment and solves problems using documented methods. Requires critical thinkingskills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressfulenvironment and take appropriate action.
