40 Hours - 3:00pm-11:30pm (Weekend and Holiday Rotation when needed)

The Clinical Intake Coordinator is the patient's first point of contact for conveying a warm, person -centered approach and will be responsible for assessing patients upon arrival. As a member of the admissions team, the Clinical Intake Coordinator contributes to each patient's individual treatment experience by effectively and efficiently admitting the patient to the accepting unit as soon as possible while working alongside their team members to provide a smooth transition for the patient.

• Competitive compensation including
• RN Shift differentials: $4 Evenings, $10 Nights, $3 weekends.
• LPN Shift differentials: $3 Evenings, $5 Nights, $3 weekends.

As a Clinical Intake Coordinator:

• Perform initial evaluations, vitals, skin checks, and necessary initial admissions criteria: suicide assessments, observations levels working with Providers for determining safety precautions if necessary.

• Performs the nurse-to-nurse review prior to the arrival of patients as needed.

• Prepares for scheduled admissions by researching pertinent topics, attending supervision/educational in-services.

• Demonstrates Trauma Informed Care practices by maintaining appropriate personal and physical boundaries, meeting with patients in open areas, not disclosing information of a personal nature to patients.

• Document accurately in the patient record using the approved format and language that is appropriate for anyone, including the patient and their family to read.

• Contributes to the Restraint Prevention initiative by using de-escalation techniques

• Maintains confidentiality standards; does not share patient information with anyone who is not directly responsible for the patient; obtains written consent from patient before acknowledging that the patient is hospitalized at Vista; maintains PHI confidentially standards.

The Clinical Intake Coordinator will have:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Massachusetts required.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.

• Ability to develop an ongoing relationship with referral sources while maintaining professional boundaries.

• Knowledge in the area of psychiatric diagnosis and clinical assessments.

• Ability to develop appropriate rapport with the patient based on developmental needs and/or delays.

• Ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized, and professional manner.

• Familiar with third party billing practices

• Sufficient typing and computer skills to facilitate use of Electronic Health Record required.
