Responsibilities:
- Needs Assessment: Collaborate with nursing leadership and staff to assess learning needs and identify areas for improvement in critical care.
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging and effective educational programs for critical care nurses, incorporating evidence-based practices and innovative teaching methods.
- Training and Competency Assessment: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure nurses maintain competency in their skills and knowledge.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Provide mentorship and guidance to new and experienced nurses, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
- Research: Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in critical care nursing and incorporate new findings into educational programs.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- OR
- Ph.D. or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
- OR
- Currently enrolled in a Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. clinical nurse specialist program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
- OR
- Equivalent coursework and experience will be considered.
- Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- 3+ years of registered nursing experience in critical care.
Preferred:
- Current certification as a CNS.
- Current certification in a relevant critical care specialty (e.g., CCRN).
- 2+ years of clinical leadership responsibility.
