Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading medical center in Portland, OR, to find a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for their Emergency Department (ED). Responsibilities:

• Clinical Expertise: Provide expert consultation and guidance to nurses and other healthcare professionals in the ED, ensuring evidence-based practice and optimal patient outcomes.
• Education and Training: Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff, promoting continuous learning and skill development.
• Quality Improvement: Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, efficiency, and satisfaction in the ED.
• Research: Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in emergency nursing, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide coordinated and patient-centered care.
• Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model for nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.

Schedule:

• Full-Time: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
• Shift: Day Shift

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing with a clinical focus from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • 3 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Preferred:
  • Experience in teaching adult learners.
  • Previous Clinical Nurse Specialist experience.
