Clinical Nursing Assistant (CNA) Inpatient Medical-Surgical Telemetry (P2C) - Maine Health

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants:

• 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
• 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

• Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Unit Bio:

• P2C is a fast paced 18 bed medical surgical telemetry unit that provides extraordinary care to a diverse and complex adult medical surgical patient population. P2C has a general surgical population with a focus on neurological and vascular. P2C also provides a wide variety of medical care with a specialty in Stroke patients. MMC is recognized by the Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and the team of P2C is proud to be one of the units certified to care for this population. P2C has telemetry monitoring capability for both surgical and medical patients. We are looking for individuals committed to providing outstanding patient care, bringing forward innovative ideas, and promoting positivity amongst our team to join us.

• Our unit consists of new certified nursing assistants embarking on their first positions and experienced certified nursing assistants and patient care technicians with multiple years of experience in their profession. • Position Summary:

• Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurses and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
• Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Education: Participates in continuing education relative to role as defined.
2. License/Certifications: Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and be on the State of Maine Registry, having completed a six-week or equivalent course
3. Experience: N/A
4. Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
5. Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
6. Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, visitors, and Maine Medical Center employees.
7. Knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and organizational structure of the unit, the Department of Nursing, and Maine Medical Center.
