Job Summary: The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist designs, implements, monitors, evaluates and modifies patient pharmacotherapy to ensure effective, safe and economical patient care. Serves as a member of the health care team to make therapeutic decisions, such as drug and drug product selection, and drug dosing. Performs research to retrieve and evaluate the best pharmacotherapeutic information available in biomedical and pharmacoeconomic literature. Provides education and support to patients/caretakers and staff, and performs other job-related duties as requested.
Specifications: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy with five to seven years related experience preferred. Must be Registered Pharmacist in the State of Rhode Island or eligible for state licensure. Successful completion of a residency or Board of Pharmacy Specialty certification highly desirable. Must have strong organizational and communication skills, and working knowledge of computers. Proficiency in the English language required.
