Summary:
Develops, coordinates, and optimizes pharmacy clinical programs. Provides leadership, training, development of clinical staff, ancillary personnel, students, and/or residents.
Responsibilities:
Review, develop, and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols to align with current practice standards.Coordinates roles and responsibilities of clinical pharmacists and specialists to optimize clinical pharmacy services and serves as a liaison between patients, patients' families and health care professionals.Delegates and oversees education assigned to clinical staff, ensuring quality and evidence-based presentations are delivered.Serve as program director/coordinator, preceptor, and/or mentor for pharmacy students and residents.Leads, prioritizes, and performs facility-based and districtwide clinical initiatives and projects to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services.Chairs, coordinates, and/or participates in hospital-specific and/or district-wide multidisciplinary committees.Assesses clinical competency and maintains provision of pharmaceutical services. Evaluates and monitors clinical interventions performed by clinical staff.Collaborate, develop and/or assist clinical leadership team on formulary management, protocol implementation, related education, medication use evaluations and integration of the electronic health recordsPartners with multidisciplinary teams to optimize medication management processes, promoting cost containment strategies and appropriate utilization of resources.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: PGY2 residency plus one (1) year of clinical experience or PGY1 residency/fellowship plus three (3) years as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital pharmacy setting. Alternatively, active board certification in applicable field plus two (2) years as a clinical specialist.
