Job Description Summary

The Clinical Research Quality Specialist B is responsible for performing Good Clinical Practices monitoring activities for sponsored Investigational New Drug clinical research trials to verify human subjects are safe, the data accurate, complete and verifiable from source documents. The monitor must verify the site is conducting the trial in compliance with the approved protocol. This role works as part of the compliance team to help support and facilitate clinical research at the university. Partner with senior team members to facilitate and conduct high quality compliance reviews, which include review preparation, conduct, close out and reporting, to ensure compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies. This position will interface with research investigators and staff throughout the review process.

Job Responsibilities

+ Work closely with Program Manager during study start up and site-initiated visit and throughout the study.

+ Conduct initial, interim and close out monitoring visits per data safety monitoring plan, protocol and other regulatory documents for all assigned clinical trials.

+ Ensure data entered into case report form is accurate, complete and verifiable.

+ Confirm documentation pertaining to investigational product administration and chain of custody at each site.

+ Review and follow up of all serious adverse events, MedWatches and safety reports to ensure site complies with all regulatory reporting requirements.

+ Complete visit reports and follow up letters per standard operating procedures.

+ Work to develop and implement corrective action plans, and resolution of monitoring/audit findings and assist with the training of staff as needed.

+ Perform additional duties as assigned.






Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience. Experience in clinical/translational research compliance and/or operations in any of the following areas: academia, pharmaceutical, contract research organization (academic or private sector), or site management organization (academic or private).
