STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: United Memorial Medical Center
DEPARTMENT: Med/Surg (Second and Third Floor)
SCHEDULE: Evening/Night, rotating weekends

ATTRIBUTES
Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively teach.
Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that supports quality care/service and staff empowerment.
Self-directed individual with high organizational and priority setting abilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma or Associates degree in nursing required.
3-5 years of acute care experience required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Rounds on each unit throughout the shift to include charge nurse and staff nurse communication to review priority and expected needs of the patients and staff.
- Demonstrates ability to manage job related stressors and constructive feedback during intra/interdepartmental relations.
- Demonstrates flexibility in meeting staffing needs throughout the organization.
- Participates in problem-solving activities at the unit level by identifying the problem and collaboratively working toward resolution.
- Provides input regarding protocols, policies and procedures to immediate supervisor.
- Provides respect for Patients rights by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information, responding to their right to know and acting as a patient advocate.
- Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based practice within practice area and identifies opportunities for performance improvement. Participates in educational programs to increase professional competence.
EDUCATION AS: Nursing (Required), BSN preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Registered in New York state as a Registered Professional Nurse.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
