Job Title: Associate Scientist III (Cell Lines, Flow Cytometry, CRISPR)
Duration: 8 months contract, extendable up to 36 months
Location: Bothell, WA

Job Description:
Supports a broad variety of research studies to assess the value of health care interventions.
Works with project teams to manage the day-to-day activities of studies. Collaborates with Medical and Marketing staff to ensure consistent Outcomes Research messages.
Database analysis, chart reviews, patient surveys, literature reviews, decision models, budget impact models, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, product strategic planning, and cost-effectiveness analyses.
Assists in the process of abstracts/posters, PowerPoint presentations and publications. Manages relationships/coordinates activities such as advisory panels and best practice sharing with users of the program
Summary
Seagen Research is seeking a collaborative and independent Scientist to participate in development of antibody-based oncology therapeutics.
The Scientist will report to the Molecular and Cellular Technologies team lead within Antibody Discovery.
Their primary responsibilities will include engineering cell lines and performing flow-based assays to support antibody campaigns.
The successful candidate will work well in a highly collaborative team environment and possess expertise in flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture, and cell engineering.
Responsibilities
Design, execute, troubleshoot, optimize, and interpret experiments
Order constructs for overexpression and knockout cell line generation
Engineer cell lines using transfection, nucleofection, CRISPR/Cas9, lentiviral transduction, and other methodologies
Evaluate target expression on engineered and endogenous cell lines using flow cytometry and molecular characterization
Perform routine cell culture maintenance and banking, working with both primary and cancer cells
Optimize and perform flow cytometry assays to screen and characterize antibodies
Maintain laboratory spaces, equipment, and supplies
Keep an up-to-date and accurate electronic laboratory notebook
Present experimental findings and contribute to scientific discussion at group and cross-functional team meetings
Proactively seek guidance and build knowledge relevant to the role
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree + 4 years laboratory research experience or Master's degree + 2 years laboratory research experience in biological sciences or related subject
Proficiency in culturing/maintaining multiple cell lines under BSL2 conditions
Knowledge of cell engineering platforms, including transient transfection, generation of stable cell lines, and CRISPR
Experience in multi-color flow cytometry
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, according to project needs
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to maintain a good working laboratory notebook
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FACS and single-cell cloning
Basic molecular biology skills, including vector design, cloning, and PCR
Knowledge of antibodies or antibody drug conjugates (ADCs)
