Job Summary:
The Clinical Social Worker/Behavioral Health Clinician provides Social Work services to the hospital's patients and their families to address psycho-social, environmental and behavioral factors which impact on the healthy functioning and/or recovery of the patients and families. The incumbent functions as a member of the health care team to provide direct clinical social work services including assessment, discharge planning, and coordination of services. The incumbent provides social work services which extend into ambulatory settings as well as all areas of the hospital. The Clinical Social Worker develops a network of community agencies to facilitate referrals. Assists in development/implementation of department policies, programs and procedures, and participates in staff development. The incumbent must be flexible to work some nights and weekends as required.
Specifications:
Master's degree in Social Work and a license as a Clinical Social Worker (CSW) or if hired prior to 5/2/2011 a Licensed Mental Health Worker (LMHW) required and a license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) preferred. Must have experience in a health care setting, hospital setting preferred. Experience in providing therapeutic, brief treatment and intervention techniques preferred. Knowledge of current behavioral health systems, billing, and diagnostic criteria.
