Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Clinical Director in overseeing and developing the Clinical department including hiring, supervision, evaluation and scheduling. Provide clinical training to clinical staff and interns. Must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the company and its overall success. Provide both clinical and personnel supervision of the clinical staff. Must have the ability to think globally, solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day clinical tasks and supports the Clinical Director as they coordinate the global and administrative tasks. The role of the Clinical Supervisor requires administrative management skills as well as clinical skills. The ideal candidate is an assertive communicator, completes tasks with urgency, and supports the clinical team daily.
Education and Experience:
· Master’s degree in a mental health related field (psychology, social work, marriage & family, or mental health counseling) required.
· Must be licensed, LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LCDC, in the State of practice. License must be current and in good standing. Must possess a full LCAS.
· 2+ years of progressively responsible mental health and substance use program management experience and staff supervision, including expertise transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team.
· Experience preferred in the field of chemical dependency/substance use/psychiatric setting or human services field.
· Proficient in Providing Direction, Influencing, Coaching and Developing others, Motivation, Fostering Teamwork, Managing Conflict, Decision Making, Effective Communication, and Active Listening
· Ability to work as a team member and possess strong management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs.
· Knowledge of HIPAA laws, Drug Free Workplace Policies, Workplace Violence
· Knowledge of Corporate Integrity and Compliance Programs. Strong computer literacy and in current technology.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Supervise and oversee all aspects of the clinical department in the absence of the Clinical Director
· Conduct group supervision, twice monthly and individual supervision once a month.
· Communicate any staff challenges to the Clinical Director.
· Recommend plans for improvement for clinical team members.
· Assist as needed by conducting interviews for hiring new clinical team members.
· Initiate, implement and monitor compliance with evidence-based practices.
· Work with other members of the management team to assure successful communication and coordination between all departments, and participate in strategic planning.
· Regularly provide clinical training to clinical services staff and interns
· Lead daily staff briefing meetings.
· Provide clinical training to clinical services staff.
· Able to redirect clients into appropriate program of care, when they are not ready to leave.
· Contact family members as needed, to discuss needed support for the client.
· Conducts therapeutic services as needed by the organization.
· Accountable for reviewing and auditing clinical paperwork.
· Implement and follow through on Departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
· Follow up on Step-down plans, Insurance and Discharges with Case Management.
· Daily communicate with Clinical director to develop group schedule and staff assignment.
· Accepts assignment of AOC on a rotating basis.
· Assist in completing overflow clinical tasks.
· Meet with clients for crisis assessment, suicide assessments, and safety plans.
· Responsible for reviewing and communicating the UR review dates.
· Reading and responding to UR and Medical Request emails.
· Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work.
· Represent the Organization in a professional manner.
· Understand and follow all policies and procedures of the Organization.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with all departments within the company.
