Clinical Supervisor - Mercy Medical Center

Responsibility of training and supervising clinical staff including Medical Assistants, Medical Office Specialist and float team members. Ordering all supplies and staying within budgetary guidelines on expenses. Ensuring coverage of the office at all times including creating the schedule, handling request for time off and filling in when necessary.  Ensuring payroll is accurate. Working closely with Practice Manager on workflows and audits.  Attending meetings with physicians, leadership and management.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Education and Work Experience:
• • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Five years experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Other healthcare experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in supervisory role is preferred.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• License Requirements:
• Documentation of certification from an accredited medical assistant training program is preferred.

• Certification Requirements:
• Must be CPR certified within three months or less from the date of hire in the practice.

• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.

• Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.

• Other Requirements:
• Must be able to perform, teach and supervise correct techniques for performing venipuncture, holter monitor application and EKG, bone densitometry, Bio Z, spirometry, therapeutic phlebotomy, CPR, administration of injectibles, finger stick glucometry, self-injection technique, ear canal irrigation, IV’s, basic diabetic education, breast self-exam, pulse oximetry, oxygen administration, and assisting physicians in emergency situations including cardiac arrest.
• Must possess skills in telephone, fax machine, copier, personal computer and peripherals, EKG machine and other medical equipment as required by the practice.
• Uses time efficiently.
• Maintains awareness of budgetary issues and actively participates in efforts to control expenses.
• Works effectively with available resources to meet deadlines and enhance performance.
• Monitors supply stocks, maintains exam room equipment and lab equipment, stocks daily and orders supplies from designated vendor weekly.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the practice operations and related policies.
