APN Healthcare Solutions is urgently hiring multiple Home Health Aide for our client in Tukwila, WA for a 12-13 week contract with a high possibility of extension.
Position Title: Home Health Aide
Pay Rate: $35-$37/hr (travelers will qualify for stipend)
Work Location: Tukwila, WA (King County and surrounding)
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
Hours/day: 40 hours/week,
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Certification Requirement: BLS, Certified HHA, CNA
Mileage Reimbursement at IRS standard
Job Description:
The Home Health Aide (HHA) provides supportive, compassionate, and hands-on care to clients in their homes. HHAs assist with personal care, perform light housekeeping duties, and offer emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from illness or surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
- Help with mobility and transfer from bed to chair, wheelchair, or toilet.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate, as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Housekeeping and Meal Preparation:
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, changing bed linens, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary guidelines and ensure clients receive adequate nutrition.
- Medication Management:
- Remind clients to take their prescribed medications at the appropriate times.
- Report any changes in the client's condition or medication side effects to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Companionship:
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
- Engage clients in conversation and activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Health Monitoring and Reporting:
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and the client's condition.
- Safety and Emergency Response:
- Ensure the client's environment is safe and free from hazards.
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate first aid or seek emergency medical assistance when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in accordance with state laws.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a home health or caregiving setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with specific populations (e.g., elderly, disabled, post-surgery) is beneficial.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform tasks independently.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Physical stamina to perform the duties of the job, including lifting and assisting clients.
- Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to client homes.
- Valid driver's license and insurance, if driving is required for the job.
- Background check and drug screening may be required.
