Responsibilities:
In support of the Ambulatory Enterprise clinical mission, the Clinical Staff Trainer will implement and deliver applicable clinical education to support the orientation, onboarding and ongoing clinical educational needs in the organization. Partners with the Clinical Staff Educator, managers, and preceptors to continue to enhance the clinical performance of staff.
- Implements and delivers applicable clinical education for all clinical staff (as assigned). Such educational efforts include materials and virtual/in-person workshops.
- Collaborates with Clinical Staff Educator and makes recommendations to enhance existing clinical programs to increase clinical competency.
- Provide individual or group coaching and consultation.
- Works with clinical preceptors on evaluation and delivery of clinical training. Including but not limited to onboarding assistance, ASO preparation, ASO check offs, ASO remediation, and monthly Spot Checks.
- Partners with Clinical Staff Educator, ED&R, and OSUWMC Director of Nursing Education on best practices for training implementation.
- Collaborates with Clinical Staff Educator to ensure alignment of program development and skills evaluation.
- Ability to perform functions using job-related software and systems.
- Travel may be required to facilitate training.
- Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements: 3-5 years clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse
Preferences: 3 years as a clinical preceptor, lead, or other clinical training experience. Certified Medical Assistant
- Must possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical skills across various scopes of practice, demonstrating proficiency in completing Ambulatory Skills Orientation evaluations successfully.
- Adept at teaching these skills to others, providing a clear rationale behind each technique.
- Knowledge and expertise to guide and train individuals in various clinical competencies.
