• Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Social Worker position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Position Summary

This is a position for the professional social worker that involves the evaluation of psychosocial needs of patients/clients and their families, and provision of diagnostic/preventive and treatment services including individual, family, and group therapy. Also provides complex discharge planning, coordinates aftercare services, and makes referrals for other community services based on the treatment plan. The employee is part of a multi-disciplinary team who works in collaboration with psychiatrists, APPs, Psych RNs, and other health/mental health professionals and provides consultation to the treatment team regarding patient/family social and environmental needs. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with institutional and social work/clinical counselor policies. This position may present the opportunity to supervise other social workers, interns, students, or other staff. Opportunities to participate in treatment team meetings, specialty consultation groups/clinics, and Departmental activities that promote professional development.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education:Knowledge of social work theories, techniques and therapies, as used in individual, family and group treatment, as well as principles of social welfare as acquired through completion of a Master's degree in social work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
2. License/Certifications:Licensure by the Maine State Board of Social Work Licensure as an LCSW or LMSW-CC.
3. Experience:Two or more years work experience in a health or mental health setting preferred.
4. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
