Job Summary
The Clinician is a qualified individual with experience in substance use disorders and Mental Health disroders. Clinicians must have the ability to work as a team member and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in providing quality treatment services and client care. The Clinician is responsible for meeting with individual clients and completing clinical documentation in a timely manner. The Clinician will manage a primary case load and provide substance abuse/Mental Health counseling services as specified in the client treatment plan. The Clinician will also facilitate process groups and other therapeutic groups. The ideal Clinician has excellent communication skills and demonstrates passion and empathy for the treatment of the co-ocurring population.
Education and Experience:
· Master's Degree in clinical mental health, social work, or other related field with one year supervised counseling experience in substance abuse treatment
· Preferred licensed or license elligible counselors (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC)
· Knowledgeable of State guidelines and Joint Commission standards
· Preferred experience in EMR/EHS system(s), Kipu
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Counsels clients, individually, to assist in overcoming dependencies
· Completes clinical groups for clients
· De-escalates AMA/ACA and other patient issues
· Completes daily documentation, including but limited to: biopsychosocial, ASAM, progress notes, group notes, discharge summaries in a timely manner
· Attends daily team meeting to enhance communication with interdisciplinary staff regarding program and client issues
· Communicates with other staff as necessary to promote quality client care
· Interact appropriately with clients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries
· Familiarity with proper protocol for ROIs, PHI
Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to maintain unconditional positive regard towards clients to be able provide therapeutic resources
·Strong descalation stratgies and skills
· Utilize knowledge and skills to provide individual sessions, meeting the client's treatment needs and requirements
· Document client progress/regression according to established policies and procedures in a clear, concise, timely manner
· Provide pertinent client information to clinical team, to assist in the patient treatment process
· Adaptability to changing situations in the work setting
· Work as a team member, following client centered approach at all times
· Complies with company policies and procedure and local, state, and federal regulations
· Meets with supervisor on a regular basis for biweekly supervision
· Has effective time management skills
· Savvy in Google Suite platform - email, chats, drive
