As a Cloud Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a TS/SCI-cleared Cloud Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in St. Louis, MO and Springfield, VA.
How a Cloud Engineer Will Make an Impact:
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working with a highly functional development team automating service deployments, optimizing system performance, integrating with enterprise authentication services, establishing/improving system monitoring, maintaining established security protocols, and providing technical support. The Cloud Engineer will be integrated into an agile environment, participating in scrums and other meetings.
- Maintain security requirements for the operation of systems
- Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc.)
- Produce detailed documentation
- Maintain systems in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, RDS, and IAM
- Manage and maintain AWS WorkSpaces
- Automate and optimize service deployments
- Deliver a full-stack web application to production; identify and resolve operational issues
- Actively participate in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e., meetings with customers)
- Execute design and implementation of application features, independently/unassisted, with minimal oversight
- Write and debug Javascript, Typescript, or closely-related languages
- Develop applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts
What you will bring to us (Required Skills):
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- 5+ years of IT experience
- Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements, including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA
- Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
- Strong troubleshooting skills at the Tier 1-3 level
- Angular frontend framework; UI/UX design
- Microservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIs
- CI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with GitLab
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory
- Windows/Linux/Ubuntu/CentOS administration experience
- Desktop support
- Domain/System Administrator experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly or eligibility to obtain
Would be nice if you bring the following (Highly Desired):
- Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS CLI
- Experience working with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, or Java)
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development
- Database experience with a Postgres backend
- Experience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl
- Familiarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools: GitLab, GitLab Pages, and Nexus
- Knowledge of Confluence and Jira
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
