Job DescriptionPurpose:
The MCF Project Intern will partner across the business to help in driving manufacturing excellence through support and timely execution of projects.
Core Functions:
Project Assistant (60%): Assist the Engineering and Operations team in implementation of new equipment, serving as an assistant in project formulation, partnering with engineering, maintenance and operations throughout the implementation process and post implementation plan after installation. Gain hands on and technical experience on equipment retrofits and upgrades. Accurately research and provide estimated costs to the Engineering team with projects. Foster a relationship throughout the organization and EHS teams that instills safe work habits among the life of the project and foster an environment which maintains compliance and supports goals.
Innovation (40%): Diligently cultivate trusting relationships among the department to seek thorough understanding of production needs. Proactively identify and assistant in the research of new casting technologies that offer advancement to equipment longevity/efficiency, green alternatives, molding process efficiencies, and machine safety systems while gaining experience in providing budgeted cost or projected costs to executive team for approval. Assist with implementing new technologies/advancements to the production floor. Seek out continuing educational opportunities for professional advancement/knowledge.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or related field.
- Knowledge with SolidWorks and MS Office program packages are a strong plus.
