The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
The IPTS Purchasing team is responsible for delivery of sourcing for Powertrain components of The IPTS/Engine
As the Components Purchasing Manager, you will lead a team of buyers in developing and executing our strategy as a global lead for turbochargers, EGR and other engine components. This role is one of four key leadership positions on this team.
In this position...
+ Lead and manage a team of buyers to optimize delivering business results, including people development plan, career coaching and mentorship.
+ Lead your team in development and execution of commodity sourcing strategies including commodity segmentation (CBP’s), Direct Sourcing Forum (DSF) reviews, etc.
+ Lead development and implementation of supply base management strategies with a global view.
What you'll do...
+ Support the development of program targets and subsequent sourcing plans.
+ Lead supplier relationships by conducting QCDR (Quality/Cost/Delivery/Resiliency) reviews, lead supplier negotiations, provide post sourcing supplier feedback and promptly address issues using a data driven approach.
+ Manage regionally driven diversity sourcing efforts (e.g. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business.
+ Enterprise (WBE), Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE) principles, etc.) supplier relationships (where required).
+ Lead your team in negotiating Best Job 1 pricing, year-over-year cost reductions, multi-year pricing agreements, and annual TVM (Total Value Management) targets.
+ Lead your team in executing E2E Cost Attack teams across your responsible supply base.
+ Support continued implementation of Category Management/Integration.
+ Build positive relationships with the supply base (utilize the Supplier Relationship Framework) by acting like a partner, trusting and being trustworthy, communicating with consistency, being fact based, thinking value not just price.
+ Build positive relationships with cross-functional business partners.
+ Monitor financial health of supply base and addresses risks represents where necessary.
+ Monitor quality of supply base and support corrective actions where necessary to help maintain Q1 status.
+ Lead your team in negotiating and resolving manufacturing recovery/warranty claims.
+ Provide mid-year and YE PR with continuous feedback/identify gaps for training for overall development of team.
You'll have...
+ Bachelor’s Degree.
+ 6+ years of supply chain/commodity/program management experience.
Even better, you may have...
+ Master’s degree.
+ 8+ years of supply chain/program/commodity management experience in the Automotive industry.
+ Strong communicator that can effectively transition from bottom-up details to concise, clear executive-level messaging.
+ Strategic and analytical thinking to support development of effective and organized sourcing rationales and commodity strategies.
+ Ability to build relationships and trust across organizations to drive decisions and alignment.
+ Strong data & analytics understanding for synthesis of complex data into clear, understandable format.
+ Ability to interpret and translate organization needs into specific purchasing actions.
+ Strong knowledge across complex sourcing processes.
+ Proactive and resourceful; comfortable with navigating ambiguity.
+ Flexible and adaptable attitude to changing priorities.
+ Collaborative leader and team player.
