The UCI School of Medicine is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and clinical practice through scholarly research, physician education and high-quality care. The office of Medical Education oversees the education and training of medical students at the UCI School of Medicine, ranked as one of the top 50 U.S. medical schools for research by U.S. News & World Report. We are dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and clinical practice by offering a rich educational environment. We nurture the development of medical students, resident physicians and scholars in the clinical and basic sciences and support the dissemination of research advances for the benefit of society. Each year, we educate more than 400 medical students and train more than 700 residents and fellows at UC Irvine Medical Center and affiliated institutions. The medical school's 915 full- and part-time and 753 volunteer faculty members are involved in teaching, providing medical care, and conducting research into the health challenges facing the 21st century. The school has 26 departments, ranging from basic science research to clinical medical and surgical specialties. It has research, clinical and teaching relationships with the VA Long Beach Healthcare System and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
The position is responsible for supporting the operation and continuous improvement of the Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) within the Office of Medical Education. The position will work with the UCI School of Medicine departments and outside organizations to plan, organize and execute their CME accredited activities. The position will ensure that Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and UCI CME guidelines are adhered to in the management, oversight, and execution of processes related to these activities. The position will be responsible for corresponding with stakeholders and providing training/guidance on CME policies, CloudCME, and other related systems. This position will assist with internal conference management and may be required to work occasional weekends/evenings to support these events. Other tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Qualifications:Required:
- Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
- Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
- Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
- Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
- Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Preferred:
- 1-3 years • Knowledge of UCI’s internal systems, including Kuali Financial System (KFS) • Excellent written/oral communication skills • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe, especially Excel (data entry, data analysis and reporting) • Prior knowledge of ACCME guidelines is preferred
