Salary range: $16/hr. - $18/hr. based on experience

Hospice nurses provide end of life care to help ensure the comfort and quality of life for their patients. They primarily work in collaborative, team-driven environments that require frequent communication with their patients, families and other caregivers. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, patient and calm. Hospice nurses are caring and kind individuals who possess a special hospice heart who can help our patients celebrate the rest of their life’s journey.
Responsibilities:Hours of operation: 7am - 3pm and every other weekend
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in an inpatient or outpatient setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Must assist residents with activities of daily living, provide for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of inpatient residents.
- Must also provide and maintain bodily and emotional comfort to Hospice patients/families and to educate and assist the patient/family in maintaining the maximum level of independent living in a safe environment.
- Pledge to make the comfort and care of patients and families the highest priority
- Consistently provide a high level of personalized, sincere and engaging service to patients and families at all times.
- Ensure the complete satisfaction of patients and families; promptly and effectively address all concerns.
- Education/Regulatory Requirements:
- Current license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Florida.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification.
- Skills:
- Six months experience working in hospital or healthcare environment is preferred.
- Must be willing to accept direction and supervision.
- Requires ability to drive, a reliable car, a good driving record, automobile insurance and basic knowledge of the county territory.
- Must be able to work comfortably with professionals and volunteers.
- Must be able to fulfill assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Must practice good personal hygiene and be neat and clean in appearance.
- Professional Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate clearly and understandably.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality in reference to patients, families and staff.
- Must be able to understand the Hospice Philosophy and apply it accordingly.
- Must be willing to respect the needs, beliefs, behaviors and psychology of patients and families.
- Language Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
