Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Hurco CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating a Hurco CNC lathe machine to produce high-quality precision parts. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Lathe Setup and Operation: Set up and operate Hurco CNC lathes, ensuring proper alignment and functionality of machines to produce high-precision parts.
- Programming: Write, modify, and optimize CNC programs for Hurco lathes, utilizing the Hurco WinMax control system or similar software.
- Tool Selection and Inspection: Select appropriate cutting tools, install them correctly, and inspect tools for wear to ensure part quality and machine efficiency.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations, sequences, and tool requirements.
- Quality Control: Perform routine quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.) to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform basic machine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting minor mechanical or electrical issues.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist, specifically with Hurco machines.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of Hurco control systems (WinMax, Conversational Programming, or similar).
- Experience with manual and CNC measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or CNC training is a plus).
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing for long periods, lifting parts, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with Hurco CNC lathes.
- CNC programming experience (both conversational and G-code).
- Experience with CNC machine troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
