CNC Supervisor
Mission: CNC Supervisor is responsible to supervise shop employees, plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Operations
- Ensures all machinists and machines are running as efficiently as possible.
- Works with other areas and departments of the company to move product through the system as efficiently and quickly as possible.
- Manages all CNC workholding, fixturing, materials, and tooling
- Schedules work centers and employees to meet schedule demands
- Programs, setups, operates and troubleshoots all CNC mills, lathes, and Swiss machines
- Produces product that meets all customer, print and raw material requirements
- Analyzes production priorities
- Ensures the quality of all parts produced in the department including first piece inspections. Handles all non-conforming parts.
- Sets up and troubleshoots machine operation
- Works collaboratively with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Operations and other departments to leverage expertise to solve complex problems
Compliance and Process Improvement
- Reduces setup time and machining through process improvements & CIP procedures
- Maintains all documentation, programs and tool lists.
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures. Enforces safety, quality, and company policy
- Inspects Bill of Material and Job Orders for completeness
Talent Management
- Provides regular and timely feedback to employees, acknowledging success and the need for improvement.

Directly supervises multiple employees in the Precision Machining Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is preferred.
- 3-5 years of machining experience and the understanding of the machining process is required
- 3-5 years of CAM programming experience is required.
- Expert knowledge of GD&T and G-code
- Expert knowledge with various handheld precision measuring tools
- Expert knowledge with various types of CNC equipment, including multi-Axis Mill, Mill turn, live tool lathes and Swiss machines.
- Must be familiar with ERP software
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability resolve conflict
- Must be a self- starter with ability to work independently in fast pace deadline orientated environment
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD Design software, ERP software, G-Code and GD&T. Must be proficient with MS Office Suite.
