Job Summary:
The CNC Machine Operator sets up, operates, and maintains CNC machines, ensuring the production of high-quality parts. This role involves reading blueprints, programming machines, and performing quality checks to meet production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) to perform precision machining tasks.
- Load and unload workpieces, tools, and fixtures.
- Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure quality.
2. Programming and Calibration:
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs.
- Input or adjust CNC programs as necessary.
- Calibrate tools and machinery for specific tasks.
3. Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances.
- Record and report deviations or defects.
4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery or production processes.
- Keep detailed maintenance logs.
Qualifications:
-Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC machining is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNC Machine Operator or in a similar role.
Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic computer skills.
