Job Description

Job Title:      CNC Turning Center Operator
Reports To: Shop Lead person

Summary:  Responsible for the operation of the CNC Turning Centers by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 

1. Operation of multiple CNC Turning Centers to perform a combination of machining operations such as facing, turning, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, broaching, knurling metal work pieces to specifications.
2. Verifies accuracy of machined work pieces against blueprints or engineering drawings by measuring cuts with inspection tooling and gages.
3. Change tools when dull and make adjustments in the offsets page when needed to achieve correct specification.
4. Load bar stock or tubing in feeder tube.
5. Runs secondary operations on another machine when time allows.
6. Fills out production paperwork and inspection procedures.
7. Maintains production completion logs.
8. Reports any discrepancies to the setup man or immediate supervisor.
9. Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment, tools, gages and to keep work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
10. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
