Title: Manual Machinist
Shift: 1st, 8-hour shift Flexible schedule (between 6:00AM-6:00PM)
Salary: $20/hr - $26/hr+
Who we are:
Our client manufactures precision super abrasive cutting tools used in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. The company is looking to add to their team at their Parma, OH location
Manual Machinist Role:
As a Manual Machinist you will be responsible for analyzing specifications and blueprints, setting up and operating machines, and assembling parts.
Manual Machinist Responsibilities:
- Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
- Compute dimensions, plans layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations
- Measure, mark, and scribe tool steels for machining
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, O.D grinders.
- Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Fit and assemble parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms
- Fill out daily operator maintenance checklists, inspection sheets and all applicable paperwork
About You:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience with lathes, mills, grinders, blueprints
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and height stand to measure tools
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, G&M code, and procedure manuals
- Ability to operate manual surface grinder, manual lathe, and vertical mill
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and proficient in all shop math including geometry, algebra and trigonometry
- Journeyman's card is a plus
- Tool making and die making experience is a plus
