Robinson Helicopters in Torrance, CA is seeking to hire experienced CNC Machinists for 2nd shift positions (Monday-Friday 3:30 pm to midnight). These are full-time, direct-hire positions that offer competitive pay, benefits and growth opportunities.
CNC Machinists use a variety of CNC lathes, mills, lasers, and waterjets used to cut metal for the manufacturing of helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of machine shop experience, not exceeding 3 jobs within the last 10 years, with at least 2 years of experience at each company.
- Must be self-sufficient and capable of troubleshooting and problem-solving with minimal supervision
- Candidates must pass a written exam during the interview and should be able to read and comprehend blueprints.
- Proficiency in the use of measuring tools necessary for checking parts (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, and thread gauges) is required.
- Candidates must possess the following minimum tools:
- Toolbox (rollaway)
- Safety shoes
- 6-inch scale
- 6-inch caliper (minimum)
- Indicator with magnetic base
- 0-1”, 1-2”, 2-3” O.D. micrometers
- Depth micrometer (0-3” minimum)
- Allen wrenches and an assortment of hand tools
- Lead or dead blow style hammer
- Familiarity with CNC mills and lathe machines with Okuma & Fanuc controls is essential, including adjusting tool offsets, indicating fixtures or parts, changing tools, and following along with the part program.
- Candidates must be able to set up jobs by loading programs, tools, fixtures, and parts using the setup sheet, fabrication order, and blueprint.
- Ability to review blueprints and drawings to determine set-up procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions. Must be able to set-up jobs by loading programs, select fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications.
- Familiarity with CNC machine controls and their functions (adjusting tool offset, indicating fixtures or parts, change tools and following along with the part program).
- Ability to monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated.
- Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.
- Basic mathematic skills include, but are not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
- Must be capable of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools.
- Full compliance with the Company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Salary
25 - 35 /hour
