CNC Machinist - Franklin Professionals

KeyResponsibilities:

·Develop, prove, troubleshoot, andmaintain CNC programs ofmultiple-axis lathes and mills using MasterCAM 3D and 2D programming software.

·Analyze part drawings, sketches, and design data todetermine dimensionand configuration of cuts.

·Selecting cutting tools, andmachine speeds and feeds according toknowledge of machine shopprocesses.

·PerformdebuggingandtestingofCNCprogramsinthemachiningcenters.

·Prepare,storeandmaintainprogramfilesinthedatabasesystem.

·Write instruction sheets and tool lists to guide set-up and operation of the machining centers.

·Operate machining centers as required toensure performance,quality,and deliverability are achieved.

·AssistinanytestingrequiredinthepurchaseofnewCNCequipment.

·Assist inthe training of production operators on theuseof new and existing CNC machine controls and tools.

·Perform cutting tools evaluations, cost analysis andnew technology implementation as well as analyze tooling failures.

·Drive cycle time reduction through adjusting feed and speeds,eliminating wasted machine moves, and evaluating better tooling.

·Participateinworkholding/fixturing designandmanufacturing.

·Participateinmachineset-uponshopfloorforallnewand/orexistingprocesses.

·Elicitfeedbackfrommachiniststoimprovemachiningsetupsand programs.

·Provide feedback to design engineers aimed at improving manufacturability, quality and cost.

·Support cross-trainingefforts to drive efficiencies and productivitythrough the machine shop.

·Provide technical assistance on machine tool performance, calibration,fixturing. tooling, and preventative maintenance requirements.

·Participate inDaily Management discussions and assist with root cause and corrective action countermeasures relative to Safety, Quality, Delivery,and Productivity.

RequiredSkills/Experience:

·5+yearsofG&Mcodeprogramming

·5+ years of machine setup and operations using mills and lathes including multi- axis

·ExperiencewithOkumaOSP,Fanuc,Yasnak,andHaascontrols

·ProficientcreatingCNCcodeusingMasterCAMorsimilarsoftware.

·Abilitytoreadandinterpretengineeringprints(includingGD&T)

·Abilitytoperformpartsinspection

·ExperiencewithLean systems

·ExperiencewithwirelessNCcodetransfersystems

·Practicalunderstandingoftheassemblyprocessandprecisioncomponents

·Basicknowledgeof MRPsystemsandmaterialflow

·Basic understanding ofMicrosoft Office and PC file storage
