CNC Maintenance Technician - TekPro Engineering

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery and equipment in our Downers Grove facility. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly within aerospace or automotive, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production equipment, including CNC machines, gear hobbing and grinding machines, and other manufacturing tools.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the life of machinery.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and make necessary repairs to minimize production interruptions.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure equipment is functioning properly and to identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and document all repairs and parts used.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications as required.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or automotive industries.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including CNC machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Ability to work occasional overtime or weekends as needed.
