CNC Operator
Spring City, PA
Yearly Salary: $45,000-$48,000
Our client is looking for a CNC Operator to perform a variety of functions. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by operating machines to perform the right operations. Raw materials consist of iron and steel castings, steel bar stock and shapes, non-ferrous materials and plastics.
Monday-Friday Day Shift Overtime available
Responsibilities
- Must be able to assist in set-up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as turning, facing, milling and drilling, etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
- Supervise the machine while they execute the task and make any necessary adjustments to compensate for tool wear, etc.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
Requirements
- CNC milling machine: 10 years (Preferred)
- CNC lathe: 5 years (Preferred)
- Proven experience as CNC operator
- Skill in setting tooling as well as precision gages
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Basic understanding of conversational programming and CAD/CAM
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
- Successfully completed apprenticeship is a plus
- Familiarity with Mazak CNC machines is beneficial but not required
- MUST have valid drivers license and reliable transportation
