opportunity available for a CNC Programmer at a company in Janesville,
WI. This is a potential to hire position for 3rd shift. Apply now! CNC
Programmer Responsibilities: - Prepare and write CNC programs and modify
existing ones for increased efficiency - Utilize drawings or CAD models
to support program development - Plan machining by studying work orders,
blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic
drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining
parameters - Program lathes and mills by entering instructions,
including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets,
and compensation; calculating programs using necessary geometry and
trigonometry skills. - Maintain quality of tooling produced by observing
and measuring all cutting actions - Replace and maintain all cutting
tools as needed - Make adjustments to programs and tooling as needed -
Assist in the development of new processes, tooling, as well as makes
recommendations for process improvements - Provide guidance to Setup and
Engineering Technicians to troubleshoot current processes and equipment
in their respective department - Provide guidance to Engineering
Technicians in programming of equipment and processes - Consult with
machine and equipment representatives on technical aspects to
troubleshoot issues over the phone - Identify training needs within
their respective department - Work with Operations and Engineering
Technicians to develop training for manufacturing personnel to
continually develop a knowledgeable and competent team that meets or
exceeds quality and productivity standards which may include creation of
training materials - Provide backup leadership support in the absence of
the engineering staff - Work with engineering to help in estimating
manufacturing costs and production rates for new products - Manage
process of perishable tooling selection for production (new and current
production) that meets or exceeds budgetary needs - Manage fixture and
tooling design for new and current production - Assist with runoffs of
new parts/machines - Identify and develop continuous improvement
projects related to their respective department - Assist in providing
feedback to Process Engineering Leader and Operations in regard to
performance reviews * OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: -
High School Diploma or GED - Ability to do machine setups, program in
G&M code and troubleshooting without direct supervision - Ability to
read blueprints and decipher GD&T specifications - Proficient at reading
and utilizing inspection instruments such as micrometers - Proficiency
