CNC 5-Axis Programmer/Operator

A growing manufacturing company is seeking a skilled CNC 5-Axis Programmer/Operator to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the aerospace and entertainment industries, using advanced machining technology.

Position Overview:

As a CNC Programmer/Operator, you will work with various 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and multi-axis lathes, collaborating with management, machinists, and operators to optimize machining programs and processes. Your responsibilities will include programming using Fusion 360, ensuring the production of high-quality parts, and actively contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program CNC mills and lathes using Fusion 360
  
• Operate and program a 5-Axis Gantry Mill for post-machining and heat-treated parts
  
• Generate tool lists, work instructions, and setup sheets
  
• Assist in job planning, considering machine capabilities, tooling requirements, and team skill levels
  
• Support management in implementing machining schedules
  
• Offer suggestions to improve part manufacturability
  
• Program fixtures and tooling as needed for part machining
  
• Ensure productivity to meet delivery deadlines
  
• Propose and implement process improvements
  
• Program 3, 4, and 5-axis machines, including live tool lathes
  

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of experience programming with Mastercam/Fusion 360 or equivalent, with expert-level knowledge of Fusion 360
  
• 5+ years of experience in post-weld machining and programming
  
• 5+ years of experience managing teams and collaborating with machinists on prove-outs
  
• 5+ years of experience in 5-axis programming, particularly for post-weld machining, with tight GD&T tolerances
  
• 5+ years of experience operating 5-axis gantry mills
  
• Knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100, GD&T)
  
• Proficiency with Haas, Okuma, and Gantry-type mills and routers
  
• Experience with machining hardened metals
  
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
